Let’s be intentional in supporting women – Akosua Manu encourages on International Women’s Day

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Adenta and Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Akosua Manu, popularly known as Kozie, has expressed her delight at the growing momentum of International Women’s Day celebrations, especially as more men are now actively organizing programs to honor and uplift women.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on March 10, 2025, she shared her recent experience of being invited to an exclusive event recognizing 50 accomplished women.

The evening, which featured fine dining and personal development courses, was a moment of empowerment and reflection for all the honorees.

“One of the organizations leading this charge is Euphoria, which I would describe as an NGO dedicated to empowering young girls. Their mission is to train them in various vocational fields, from catering to dressmaking, equipping them with meaningful skills to secure their futures and escape poverty,” she stated.

Akosua Manu emphasized the importance of women uplifting each other, noting that the increasing number of women supporting and championing others is a powerful and encouraging trend.

“Over the weekend, I saw Nana Aba Anamoah in France with her Women of Valor initiative. She started it locally, but now she’s breaking barriers by organizing it on an international scale. Seeing the participation and the influential women she brought on board was inspiring. It’s always humbling to witness women supporting one another and creating impactful platforms,” she added.

She encouraged continued efforts to be intentional in supporting women, not just on International Women’s Day but throughout the year, to create lasting empowerment and opportunities.
